There are two commercial ferry companies which operate a ferry service to Great Barrier Island. Information about each of these companies is provided below, as well as a link to their timetable and fares.
SeaLink Passenger and Car Ferry Service provide Auckland's only regular service to Great Barrier Island. These run six days a week in summer and three days a week in winter and take approx 4 ½ hours.
The ferry departs Wynyard Wharf - car bookings essential. Check-in for cars is 60 minutes prior to departure and foot passengers 30 minutes. Boarding will close 15 minutes prior to departure.
Fullers run ferry services between Great Barrier Island and Auckland from October to March (Easter Weekend) and these take approx 2 ½ hours. The ferry departs Pier 2, Ferry Terminal, 99 Quay St, Auckland and Tryphena or Port FitzRoy at Great Barrier Island.
